A safe and non-invasive test performed using a blood sample from the mother starting from the tenth week of pregnancy , it helps to assess the likelihood of certain chromosomal disorders in the fetus, in addition to determining the sex of the fetus .
- The examination includes:
- Down syndrome (Trisomy 21)
- Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18)
- Patau syndrome (Trisomy 13)
- X and Y sex chromosome disorders
- Determining the sex of the fetus (male/female)
- Results take 5–7 days
